MUNPL: 'Run for Unity' organized on the birth anniversary of Iron Man
Meja, Prayagraj (Rajesh Shuklad). On the occasion of National Unity Day, 'Run for Unity' marathon was organized at Meja Urja Nigam (P) Limited with the joint efforts of Sports Council and Human Resource Department.
The birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, popularly known as the Iron Man of India, is celebrated as National Unity Day to honor his important role in the unification of our nation.
To celebrate their spirit, MUNPL employees, along with their families, CISF personnel and other staff members, actively participated in the 3 km spirited marathon, showcasing their immense enthusiasm, unity and determination.
The day started with the National Unity Pledge, Integrity Pledge and Khadi Pledge led by GM (O&M) Sarit Maheshwari, followed by Run for Unity Marathon.
At the end of the marathon, all the winners were felicitated by GM (O&M) Sarit Maheshwari and Smt. Rakhi Maheshwari, Vice President, Aparajita Mahila Samaj (AMS), Welfare Branch of MUNPL.
The operation department performed exceptionally well in the men's category. Leading the group, J Dinesh secured the first position, followed by Amit Kumar at the second position and Sudhir Mudahi from the HR department at the third position.
Under the women's category, AMS members emerged as top achievers. Aarti Nigam stood first, Pratigya Yadav stood second and Vijaya Singh stood third.
The children's category was led by Achintya Krishna Dixit, followed by Devik Naidu and Utsav Bhardwaj.
In the overall medal tally, CISF dominated with the highest number of medals, with Vikas, Jagdeep and KS Rao topping the list.
In his concluding speech, Sarit Maheshwari appreciated the commendable efforts of both the Sports Council and the Human Resource Department. He emphasized that the enduring spirit of the Iron Man of India should continue to resonate within us, underscoring our collective responsibility to uphold his message of unity.
